Promotion
Refer a friend to Expedia and receive a £40 off voucher once the friend makes their first booking on www.expedia.co.uk, the friend you refer will also receive a £20 off voucher to be redeemed against their first booking (“Promotion”). Vouchers are subject to certain restrictions (see ‘Voucher Terms and Conditions' below).

The Promotion will run from 28.04.09 to 31.12.09.
Promotion Terms and Conditions
1. To participate in this promotion you must recommend your friend to Expedia by 31.12.09 by using the refer a friend button at www.referafriend.expedia.co.uk
2. You may not take part in the Promotion with more than one email address.
3. You may not refer friends using a friend's email address for a temporary email service (including but not limited to any email address with the domain mailexpire.com). Referrals using temporary email service addresses will not be successful, and neither you nor the friend referred will receive vouchers.
4. When you refer a friend to Expedia they will receive an email from you containing a £20 off voucher valid against bookings on www.expedia.co.uk made using the email address you entered for your friend in the referral process.
5. Your referred friend will need to make their booking on www.expedia.co.uk by 31.12.09 in order to use their voucher.
6. If your friend is already a customer of Expedia then you cannot participate in this offer. You will only qualify for the £40 off voucher if your friend makes a booking in accordance with the terms of the Promotion and if your friend is a new customer on Expedia. If the friend you referred is already an Expedia customer then you will not qualify for a voucher.
7. You will receive a £40 discount voucher for each for your referred friends who makes a booking on www.expedia.co.uk during the Promotion Period. The voucher will be emailed to you only once your friend has made a booking. You will only be able to use one £40 off voucher per booking.
8. Before entering any friends' email addresses at www.referafriend.expedia.co.uk and inviting them to participate in the Promotion you must ensure that you have the permission of each friend you recommend to be contacted. You will only send emails via the referral scheme to friends who are 18 years of age or older.
9. You will not use the free text space for personal messages to send messages that are inappropriate. Inappropriate messages may include but are not limited to messages which harass or advocate harassment of another person (including the friend), promote racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual, are defamatory or libellous, promote information that you know is false, misleading or promotes illegal activities or promotes conduct, or that is abusive, threatening, or obscene. In addition, you may not encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise be contrary to the law of or infringe the rights of any third party in any country in the world.
10. The £40 off voucher will only be offered to you if your friend or more than one of your friends make their first booking on www.expedia.co.uk in accordance with all the terms and conditions of the Promotion.
11. You may only claim a maximum of 10 £40 off discount vouchers.
12. By participating in the referral scheme, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, and that the decision of Expedia is final and binding in all matters relating to this Promotion.
13. Expedia's standard booking terms and conditions apply to all bookings.
14. Expedia reserves the right to cancel or amend the terms of this Refer a Friend promotion without notice in the unlikely event of major catastrophe, war, earthquake, or any actual, anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other similar event
15. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and with the exception of liability arising either from fraud, or from death or personal injury caused by the negligence of Expedia or its employees, Expedia excludes all liability howsoever arising connected with the Refer a Friend promotion and all warranties, conditions, undertakings, terms and obligations implied by law (whether by statue, common law or otherwise).
16. Any personal data collected for the purposes of the Promotion will be processed in accordance with the provisions of Expedia's Privacy Policy.
17. This Promotion is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Refer a Friend Promotion £40 off Thank-you voucher Terms and Conditions
1. You are entitled to a £40 off voucher off the total reservation cost exclusive of any taxes or fees when your friend makes their first qualifying booking on www.expedia.co.uk in accordance with the terms of the Promotion.
2. The £40 off voucher discount applies to bookings you make on www.expedia.co.uk before 31 December 2009 for Expedia Special Rate hotel only or tailor make and save packages ( Expedia Special Rate hotel plus flight or car) for travel between 28 April 2009 and 31 March 2010.
3. The voucher cannot be redeemed against hotel only bookings for any Harrahs, MGM, Starwood, Novotel, Sol Melia, Rezidor, Hilton Hotels, Intercontinental Hotel Group or Marriott hotel.
4. Voucher cannot be redeemed against pre-existing bookings or taxes or fees.
5. Only one voucher can be used per booking.
6. The discount will not apply again if the booking dates for the hotel or package holiday are subsequently changed or if another booking is made after cancelling the first reservation.
7. The voucher may be redeemed only once.
8. You will be asked to sign in as a registered user of the Expedia website.
9. Usual booking terms and conditions apply and all bookings are subject to availability.
10. All taxes, fees, charges, and surcharges are applicable to reservations made using the discount code or voucher. These charges must be paid at the time of the reservation and are the responsibility of the customer.
11. Voucher has no commercial value and cannot be redeemed for cash
12. Voucher may not be used for any previously purchased reservation.
13. Voucher cannot be used by employees of Hotels.com or Expedia.
14. Expedia reserves the right to vary these conditions of use or to withdraw the discount code or voucher at any time.
